What is the Pickens Plan?
T. Boone Pickens states that the United States uses:
50% Coal
20& Nuclear
22% Natural Gas
8% Other
To fulfil its power needs.
He believes that we can in ten years time, build enough wind farms to produce 20% of the United States energy needs.
He is adamant that we can sub out the 22% Natural Gas for automotive use, therefore reducing
our dependency on foreign oil by 38% or roughly 300 billion a year.
Pickens has many critics and supporters, some believe his plan to be valid and others don’t give it any credit.
